One of my favorite life stages to experience alongside friends has been when they become mothers. Please excuse me while I get sappy for a moment. It's messy and chaotic and draining experience, but it's also very beautiful and joyful to see a friend go through such a life-altering event. I've seen Kesha full of love, concern, sacrifice, grace and so much strength. Here are a few more photos of Kesha, Charlie and Ember. To see even more photos of beautiful little Ember, view Part 1.
One of my closest friends asked me to take some photos of her newborn baby, Ember (great name, right?). I am by no means a photographer of newborns, but I just couldn't say no to that squishy baby face. I'm not much for the staged newborn shoots, so we tried to keep it simple, casual and more lifestyle-ish. It was a fun and nerve wracking experience. It was also an honor to be a part of as well. Thank you for trusting me, Kesha. The above photo was inspired by Sapple Apple. We just had to.
My great friend, or sister as I like to call her, Michelle, recently had her baby. I couldn't help but take a few photos after he was born in order to capture such a special space in time for their little family. Here are a few snaps from the day Elias was born. See more images in my portfolio.
